After two years of being under lock and key, the city-hotel "Sveti Stefan", the former trademark of Montenegrin tourism, will be opened on July 7, and it will receive its first official guests for its 63rd birthday. This was confirmed by the "News" in the company "Adritic properties", which manages the hotel complex Sveti Stefan - Miločer.
A small fishing settlement in Pashtro, a medieval fortress that for centuries resisted the invasions of invaders, was transformed on July 13, 1960, by the decision of the communist authorities at the time, into a fashionable summer resort, and in 2007, the Government of DPS gave it a multi-decade lease.
Misunderstandings in the past two years, due to which the popular Svetac was closed, have in all probability been somewhat overcome in relation to the Government Dritan Abazović - tenant, businessman Petros Statis, however, a dispute is still pending before the International Court of Arbitration in London, which "Adriatic Properties" is pursuing demanding that it be paid one hundred million euros for breach of contract.
And the problem with the locals, who two years ago broke the gate at Kraljičina beach and thereby made it public, so that everyone can swim there, not only hotel guests, but also the then political clique gathered around the leader of the DPS Milo Đukanović, in all likelihood, they were solved, because the gate "returned" to this most beautiful Montenegrin beach.
A Vijesti reporter was convinced of this yesterday, because this summer Kraljičina beach will be reserved for guests from 8 a.m. to 20 p.m., and then open to the public. And that everything is being hurriedly prepared in the Miločer park complex, it was clear yesterday, because the workers were arranging the park areas, cleaning the entire area, while the final preparations were being made to make the King's Beach below the "Miločer" villa operational.
As "Vijesti" was told in "Adritic properties", this beach will also be in operation as soon as lifeguards are provided, like the western St. Stephen's beach and Kraljičina beach. And furniture is placed on all beaches. Nevertheless, for the entire settlement, both on Sveti Stefan and Pržno, it is certainly important that the hotel complex works this summer.

Resident and member of the "Sveti Stefan" Local Community Blazo Radjenovic he told "Vijesta" that final preparations are being made for the opening of Villa "Miločer", Villa "Marija" (i.e. Villa "400") and the spa center on Kraljičina Beach.
"In the next few days, according to my information, tours will begin to be organized through the island of Sveti Stefan itself, and in this period there will be up to seven tours per day. In addition to the above, services are regularly held in the churches on the island", said Radjenović.
Rađenović, who is also the president of the Board of Directors of the Public Enterprise for the Management of Marine Resources, said that the beaches are designed and organized and the way of using the hotel swimming pools is clearly highlighted, with accessibility and consumption by the locals.
"Regarding the agreement between the tenant and the locals, what I can tell you is that the agreement was reached to mutual satisfaction and we expect a very successful tourist season for the hotel and private accommodation. The opening of the "Sveti Stefan" hotel is of particular importance for the image of our place and the positioning of Montenegro on the world tourist map. It is important to note that communal order has finally been introduced on the territory of the "Sveti Stefan" Municipal Municipality, especially when it comes to traffic and illegal parking, which for years has caused collapse, and in this direction a new parking lot has been organized in Miločerski Park, and the presence of a municipal policeman has been organized and "spider" vehicles by the "Parking Service" who will make sure that the passability is at a satisfactory level", said Rađenović.
Prime Minister's Government Željko Šturanović On January 15, 2007, she gave the green light to conclude a 30-year lease agreement for the "Sveti Stefan" hotel, the "Miločer" villa and the "Kraljičina plaža" hotel.
The signatures were then signed by the directors of HTP "Budvanska Riviera" and HTP "Miločer", as well as representatives of "Aidway investments limited" from the British Virgin Islands, the Ministry of Tourism and "Aman resorts management" from the Netherlands.
According to the contract at that time, the guaranteed annual total rent is 1,6 million euros, but the contract also stipulates that the rent can be revised every third year. The lessee undertook to keep the hotels open for a minimum of 11 months, but also to invest 50 million in the reconstruction of St. Stefan.
The government, headed by the former prime minister Zdravko Krivokapić, after ten years, she removed the secrecy mark from the documents related to the lease of the hotels "Sveti Stefan", "Miločer" and "Kraljičina plaža".
Lawyer Ana Đukanović, the sister of the former president of the country Milo Đukanović, wrote on November 6, 2012 to the then prime minister Igor Lukšić requesting to reduce the rent paid by "Adriatic properties" according to the contract.
After her letter, on November 29 of that year, the Government adopted the annex proposal for three hotels and sent it to the Assembly, which adopted the annex only after three years, because the then coalition consisting of DPS and SDP did not have a majority in the Assembly that would support that act .
Later, Đukanović's government received the support of part of the then Pozitivna and the annex for Sveti Stefan and Miločer was adopted at the end of July 2015. The annex for Kraljičina Beach was adopted half a year later.
With the annex for Sveti Stefan, the lease was extended for 12 years, until 2049, and the rent was reduced from 1,6 million to 1,1 million euros. With the annex for Kraljičina plaža, the lease was extended from 30 to 90 years and the construction of a condo hotel was made possible, i.e. half of the apartments will be for sale and half for hotel business.
Leader of the Positive Darko Pajović who ruled that the contract should be extended, subsequently saved the government of Milo Đukanović, became the president of the Assembly, and then the ambassador of Montenegro to China.
