Yesterday, the public company Morsko dobro from Budva returned to its owner - the construction company Briv Construction from Kotor, the small ferry "Vasilije", which the state company used for the past four and a half months on the Kamenari-Lepetane ferry line in Boka Kotorska.
"Vasilije", which was then registered as a hydro-construction vessel for the transport of construction machinery and equipment, on February 18 "jumped" onto the only ferry line in the country, instead of the six ferries of the previous private operator - the company Pomorski sabrojc from Kamenar, which Morsko dobro a day earlier, by order of the Government, unilaterally terminated the valid contract for the lease of parts of the coast in Lepetani and Kamenari, on the basis of which it has been carrying out ferry operations in Boka since 2004.
At that time, Briv Construction ceded the only available ferry in the country - the small "Vasily" built in 1978, which can only take 20 cars, to Morsko Dobr, which the Government authorized to take over the maintenance of the ferry line across the Verige strait in Boka, without compensation. and his crew.
The employees of Briv Construction drove the ship "Vasilije" until the workers of Morski Dobr were trained for this job in the following months - a company that, by the way, had never been involved in the maritime transport of goods and passengers and had to be quickly re-registered and its Statute changed to start doing that job as well.
"Vasilije", which was urgently supplemented with missing safety and rescue equipment, was hastily re-registered with UPSUL in mid-February as a passenger ro-ro ship so that it could legally sail on the Kamenari-Lepetene line, where this small boat was alone while its on March 13, the ferry "Trideseti August" twice its capacity did not join on that route.
The departure of "Vasili" from Kamenar yesterday around 11 am was symbolically greeted by all the other Morski Dobr ferries by sounding their ship's sirens.
