Elektroprivreda announced that the "Perućica" Hydroelectric Power Plant will be in operation from September 15, instead of today, at the request of the Regional Water Supply of Montenegrin Coast.
They said that "Perućica" is ready to start production according to plan, after overhaul works, but that they decided to meet the request of the mentioned company.
The regional water supply company asked for a delay so that the inflow of water into the Morača River would remain at the lowest level and ensure the measurement of water level parameters as part of the construction of a temporary embankment as part of the project to check the impact of the waters of the Morača River on the capacities of the "Boljesestra" spring.
"Works on the embankment can be carried out during the period of low water level that is currently present, which is also affected by the production of HPP Perućica. The measurement will indicate the impact and increase of the capacity of that source and the reliable water supply of the Montenegrin coast. Looking at the energy balance and the position of EPCG in September , and appreciating the society's interest in solving the problem of water supply to the coast from the Boljesestra water source, a decision was made to postpone the start of operation of HPP Perućica until September 15," concludes Elektroprivreda.
