After a long time, the workers of the Igalo Institute can be optimistic because from now on the problems will be worked on in shorter terms, said the president of the "Dr. Simo Milošević" Institute Union, Marija Obradović.
She said this at the press conference "Dialogue to save the Dr. Simo Milošević Institute", which took place after the thematic session for saving that institution.
Among others, the meeting to save the Institute was attended by Minister of Finance Aleksandar Damjanovic, President of the Herceg Novi Municipal Assembly Ivan Otović, minority shareholder Žarko Rakčević and director of the Institute Savo Marić.
Obradović added that the Institute went through a total of 15 years of privatization attempts and that 265 medical workers currently work there.
"The institute has a total of 24 hectares of land and about 600 beds in phase I, and 800 in phase II," she emphasized.
Lučić: The institute is in a very bad situation
Marko Lučić, member of the Herceg Novi Municipal Assembly, said that the meeting was extremely useful.
"The result of 20.000 signatures is exceptional," he emphasized.
He added that as a delegation from Herceg Novi, they said at the session that the Institute is the life of that city. That is why they are ready to negotiate and solve the problems of that institution because it is in a very bad situation.
He emphasized that Damjanović presented concrete steps to solve the Institute's problems and that progress had been made.
"Rakčević also put forward a couple of good proposals," Lucic said.
He said that a solution could be reached for that institution very soon, but emphasized that the deadlines must be respected.
"If the problem is not solved, we will take the most radical steps to save the Institute," he stressed.
Keković: The institute must be a brand that will affirm Montenegro
The General Secretary of the Union of Free Trade Unions, Srđa Keković, said that the Institute must be a brand that will affirm Montenegro. He added that Rakčević, as a minority shareholder, accepts and wants to work on the proposals.
"The Ministry of Economic Development was not invited by mistake. We agreed to send an address to Prime Minister Abazović to schedule a meeting to help the Institute by the end of next week," Keković said.
He added that if there is no understanding for that call, he will organize a new conference to search for a new model. He emphasized that he will address the Prime Minister's Office tomorrow and that their goal is to slow down the outflow of personnel as much as possible.
Keković, answering the questions of journalists, said that there were a number of proposals, but that they did not discuss each one individually, and that they were leaving it after they had talked with Abazović.
"There were several models and each one is sustainable. The only one that is not is privatization," Keković stressed.
Obradović: The August salary was paid today
Obradović said that their August salary was paid today and that now there is no debt owed to the workers from that side. She emphasized that they received the salary thanks to the rehabilitation of patients during the summer season.
She said that due to the Institute's debt to Elektroprivreda, they do not expect financial assistance from the energy company.
Obradović also referred to the announcement according to which citizens of Norway would cancel their contract for treatment at the Institute.
"That would be catastrophic. We can only assume that their problem is what is happening to the workers at the Institute, we got a positive result on all other evaluations," said Obradović.
