Post of Montenegro: Decision to stop working to the detriment of the company

"Instead of contributing to the work of the Post with constructive advice, and certainly criticism, he uses his position to sabotage every process, every innovation, probably wanting to maintain the system as it was during the leadership before 2021"

The Post of Montenegro reacted to the article "Shjekloća about the situation in the Post: Bad management and idle workers swallowed up salaries", published on the Vijesti portal.

The member of the board of directors of the Post, Stojan Sjekloća (United Montenegro), said that party recruitment and nepotism increased the expenditure side of the Post of Montenegro, that they brought confusion in the organizational part, and that the management of the Post before August 30, 2020, despite numerous anomalies, was significantly better in certain segments.

We transmit the complete reaction of the Post Office:

"First of all, we must state with regret that we are forced to react to the incorrect statements of a member of the Board of Directors and the Manager of Logistics, Processing and Distribution for Business Logistics Centers in the Post of Montenegro, which are based on the personal perception of an individual, malicious intentions and animosity towards the President of the Board of Directors and management.

We remind the public that we have repeatedly responded to the allegations highlighted in the text in question, and in which we have given precise and detailed answers to all the inaccurately stated claims, which Mr. Sjekloća is now recycling.

When it comes to Mr. Sjekloća, we will first point out that he was elected to the Board of Directors by the Government on the proposal of a political party, and not as an expert for postal traffic, and moreover, in addition to that function, he also holds another extremely responsible position in Pošta Crna.

The function and role of a member of the Board of Directors of a state-owned company and the manager of an organizational unit implies that he contributes to the work and reputation of the Company with maximum effort, but also with constructive advice, and finally with criticism. However, with Mr. Sjekloća, the case is different. He used his position to sabotage every process, every innovation, without offering solutions and new ideas, which justifiably leads us to believe that he wanted to maintain the system as it was in 2021, which he himself says was bad. We remind Mr. Sjekloć that he voted for numerous acts adopted by the Board of Directors, including public procurement plans, and then he voted against the execution of the acts for which he had previously voted.

As he himself pointed out, every attempt to sabotage him was stopped by the democratic principle of voting. Quite simply, he was the only member of the Committee who believed that the postal system should remain at the level of socialist organization, with no chance of technological progress. Apart from that type of sabotage, we would like to point out that he often used the sessions of the Board of Directors to belittle and insult individual members of the management on a professional and human level.

Performing the function of a manager, in accordance with Stalinist methods, as a professor of Marxism and socialist management, precisely because of mobbing of female colleagues, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against Mr. Sjekloca, which we believe is the reason for this kind of media reaction. However, instead of reviewing his behavior and taking responsibility, he chooses to spread untrue, unverified information and thereby knowingly harms the Board of Directors, but also all his colleagues and the Company itself.

When he talks about "suspicious" transactions, we ask him why he did not inform the competent institutions about the suspicious transactions, but was allegedly an accomplice. Mr. Sjekloća knows that every innovation, every job, every employment was done in accordance with the law and that the relevant institutions of the system have already confirmed this in their reports. However, Mr. Sjekloća uses the media, when he cannot find support in the institutions to fulfill his wishes, to deal with the president and members of the Board of Directors and management.

When he talks about money, Mr. Sjekloća could also mention the signing of contracts that brought large revenues to the Post Office, which is the merit of this "bad management", and he could and had to take a realistic look at the situation and notice that the prices of office supplies, starting only made of paper, significantly enlarged, and that these are basic and necessary means of work. Let's not talk about fuel, spare parts and oil, because precisely by listing these things and not offering a supposedly "better option", Mr. Sjekloća showed how impossible it is to find a true fault in the management's work and that the goal is slander for the sake of slander. This showed elementary ignorance of the job.

In general, the gentleman forgot to mention that revenues increased, which curbed inflation to the detriment of the Company, so today we can talk about an increase in earnings, and not about operating at a loss. And after all, Mr. Sjekloća knows very well that we did not refuse to increase the salaries of the employees, but that we waited for the quarterly report, so that we could meet the employees as best as possible, without jeopardizing the sustainability of the company. The employees and representatives of both unions understood that, and that is why the negotiations continued, and ended yesterday in the most convenient way for the employees.

Mr. Sjekloca's statement that there was no need to renew the vehicle fleet best shows how much Mr. Sjekloca cares about his employees - it is irrelevant to him that a large number of vehicles were over 15 years old, and that due to their age and mileage they were not sufficiently reliable and safe. because those vehicles will be driven by others, not by him. Therefore, we are talking about a man who was not ready for changes, for investment, for progress, but also about a man who does not know that new vehicles in the fleet were necessary due to the expansion of the business network. It would be grotesque to talk about his knowledge of environmental standards and principles and why electric vehicles are a good choice from that point of view as well.

According to the above, and taking into account the inadequate behavior of Mr. Sjekloća towards the employees, it can be concluded that Mr. Sjekloća does not know the material and processes that take place in the Post Office, nor does he know the economic situation, and especially that it is not adequate for him to speak about morals and the alleged taking care of the employees and the progress of the Company itself. With his actions as a board member and manager of an extremely important sector, he did not contribute to the development of the Post with any ideas or actions, and it would have been collegial if he had mentioned that it was the work and commitment of the management and the Board of Directors that made it possible for all employees to increase their salaries, renew the fleet and to continuous work is being done to improve working conditions.

Finally, we call on Mr. Sjekloća to stop knowingly working to the detriment of the Company, referring not to his morals, that is shooting at point blank range, but rather to his failure in every possible attempt at sabotage," states the reaction of the Post of Montenegro.
