The Ministry of Finance has informed the Government and the Assembly of Montenegro that the preparation of the Draft Law on the Budget of Montenegro for 2024 will require additional time, since the 44th Government on October 31 passed the Decree on the Organization and Mode of Operation of the State Administration, which entails the reorganization of the Government by the establishment of 19 ministries and 25 bodies is determined.
This was officially told to "News" in the Ministry of Finance.
"The Ministry of Finance will undertake all activities in order for the Draft Law on the Budget of Montenegro for 2024 to be prepared and put into the procedure, i.e. for consideration and adoption, as soon as possible", said this government department in response to the question of when the proposal budget for the following year to be determined and forwarded to the parliament for adoption.
The Ministry reminded that the Government proposed a rebalancing of this year's budget as a matter of urgency, on November 9, with the aim of smooth functioning until the end of the year.
"With this proposal, changes related to technical harmonization with the new Regulation on the organization and working methods of state administration are defined, as well as the planning of funds with the aim of realizing the EU support package for overcoming the energy crisis and providing the missing funds for financing certain budget obligations until the end of the current year , as well as due to the increase in receipts," explained the Ministry of Finance.
