The delegation of the Government of Montenegro, consisting of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development, Nik Đeljošaj, as well as the Ministers of European Affairs, Finance and Energy and Mining, Maida Gorčević, Novica Vuković and Saša Mujović, will pay a working visit to Brussels on November 28 and 29. in 2023.

"Members of the Government will participate in the meeting on the occasion of the Communication on the new growth plan for the Western Balkans, where they will discuss the Growth Plan and the Priority Reform Agenda with representatives of the European Commission. In this context, they will present the Government's plans for the implementation of policies in the areas of the business environment , digital transformation and innovation, reform of the energy sector to encourage the green transition and the rule of law," the announcement reads.
During the visit to Brussels, as stated, the meetings of the Minister of European Affairs, Maida Gorčević, are planned with the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Oliver Varhelji, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Stabilization and Association, Vladimir Bilčik, and the Special Envoy of the European Union for the Western Balkans, Miroslav Lajčak.
"The participation of the Delegation of Montenegro at the meeting in Brussels will be an opportunity for further promotion of Montenegro's progress and results in the process of European integration, as well as for expressing readiness to support the project Growth Plan for the Western Balkans and the proposals of the instrument for reform and growth in the areas of the rule of law and the green agenda ", it added.
Following President von der Leyen's announcement, as stated in the press release, on November 8, 2023, along with the 2023 enlargement package, the European Commission adopted the Communication on the new Growth Plan for the Western Balkans and the proposal for an instrument for reform and growth.
"The Growth Plan is a tool for significantly accelerating the economic and social convergence of the Western Balkans with the EU, contributing to the acceleration of the accession process. As part of the Growth Plan, each partner from the Western Balkans will be invited to prepare a Reform Agenda based on existing recommendations, including previous economic and reform programs , the enlargement package and the existing political dialogues," the statement added.
