Montenegro is ready to intensify all necessary activities in order to more successfully and quickly fulfill its obligations as a member of the Energy Community (EC) and a candidate for membership in the European Union (EU), said the Minister of Energy and Mining, Saša Mujović.
As announced by the Ministry of Energy and Mining, Mujović participated in the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the EC in Vienna, which was held within the framework of Albania's presidency.
The Ministry stated that the Council was chaired by the Deputy Director General in the General Directorate for Energy of the European Commission, Mechthild Wörsdörfer.
"The meeting discussed and discussed topics that are particularly important for fulfilling the obligations of the EC contracting parties and creating an integrated pan-European energy market, such as the new EU legal acquis, the EC budget for the next year and 2025, the implementation of the Agreement on the formation of the EC and the road map for decarbonization," the announcement says.
The Ministry said that at the end of the meeting, the EC presidency was handed over between Albania and the future chairmanship of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As they stated, Mujović also met today with the director of the EC Secretariat, Arturo Lorkowski.
The Ministry said that the meeting discussed key issues that are important for the fulfillment of Montenegro's obligations from the Agreement on the Formation of the EC.
"At that meeting, Mujović presented plans for the further development of the energy sector of Montenegro and our commitment and readiness to intensify all necessary activities in order to more successfully and quickly fulfill the obligations we have as a member of the EC and a candidate for EU membership," the statement says. .
It is stated that, taking into account what he heard from Mujović, Lorkowski expressed his understanding of the political and economic situation in Montenegro.
He said that Montenegro will have strong support and support in the EU and EC.
