Office of the President of the State Jakov Milatović was the first address addressed by the consortium "Kvalitetsbygg Gruppen & Uber Nordic" from Sweden, which wants to invest its money in Nikšić's Željezar, after which, in further communication with the Ministry of Energy and Mining, Elektroprivreda and Željezar, meetings were organized with a potential investor.
Advisor to the President of the State for Regional Development Aleksandar Stijović officially explained to "Vijesti" that the Cabinet of the President of the State is personally involved in this communication with the potential investor, clarifying that many companies and individuals, either from the country or abroad, address the institution of the President of the State on a daily basis.
"Many via the archive, while others directly to the adviser's email and publicly available contacts. From the institution of the President, on my part, in accordance with the powers, and without entering into the competence of other institutions, we try to answer every single inquiry or address or provide support to establish communication, especially when it comes to issues of general social importance. There are different reasons why people have the greatest trust in the institution of the President, and we can only assume that, but often as part of the letter it is stated that they addressed other institutions and did not receive a response, or they do not receive responses from other institutions on time," he explained. said Stijović in response to a question from "Vijesti".
He said that a consortium of companies made up of the companies "KvalitetsBygs & Uber Nordic" from Sweden came forward as a potential investor to invest in Željezar.
"The full name of the consortium is "KvalitetsBygs & Uber Nordic". In the letter of intent, they stated that they intend to invest 70 million euros with a total duration of 12 years. Presenting their consortium, they wrote the following - we quote "Kvalitetsbygg Gruppen & Uber Nordic", which consists of several companies focused on the construction industry, formally expressed their great interest in the revitalization of the factory in Nikšić. Both companies have a total turnover of more than 150 million euros and employ more than 210 people," said Stijović, adding that this consortium will officially submit its offer after January 10, 2024.
Last week, a potential investor visited the factory in Nikšić, which was officially announced by the Ministry of Energy and Mining, headed by the minister Saša Mujović. Yesterday, he officially told journalists at the Chamber of Commerce that they are negotiating with several potential investors, including a consortium from Sweden.
"I would not put them in the foreground in any way, nor comment on anything. As the Government, we are obliged to find a potential investor. I can say that around January 10th we expect the arrival of a respectable company based in Lausanne that has connections with the steelworks in Skopje and Smederevo. So we will listen to everything," said Mujović, reports TV Vijesti.
"Vijesti" is waiting for answers from the relevant ministry regarding more detailed information about a potential investor from Sweden.
On December 11, Elektroprivreda, which manages Željezara, announced an international public call for a potential investor who would start production at the Steelworks and Kovacnica. Applications are submitted until January 25.
