The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, welcomed the fact that the priority in the Draft Law on the Budget is focused on social support, but also said that the expected development component is missing.
"Analyzing the structure of the proposed budget, it is important to point out the focus on social protection and the increase of the minimum pension. A higher percentage allocation for transport infrastructure is commendable. The higher percentage allocation also refers to debt repayment (public finances). However, the proposed budget shows less allocation of funds for key sectors of the Montenegrin economy such as tourism and agriculture. A percentage less allocation for health, culture, education, science and sports is also proposed. I welcome the priority focused on social support, but I notice the lack of the expected development component in this proposed budget," he wrote is Milatović on the social network Iks.
