The Council of the Central Bank (CBCG) made a decision on the distribution of profits for 2022, by distributing 2,6 million euros to the budget of Montenegro, and the same amount to the general reserves of the supreme monetary institution.

Amendments to the Law on the CBCG, which was adopted by the Parliament on December 29 last year, established a different treatment of unrealized revaluation losses for financial assets that are measured at fair value, in such a way that they are not covered, but kept in the account of unrealized revaluation reserves until the moment of their sale, i.e. maturity.

"This created the conditions for the distribution of the financial result of the CBCG from 2022, so the Council made a decision on the distribution of the CBCG profit for 2022," the announcement states.

According to that act, 50 percent of the CBCG profit from 2022, in the amount of 2,6 million euros, is transferred to the state budget, while the remaining 2,6 million euros are distributed to the general reserves of the supreme monetary institution.

"This contributes to the liquidity of the state budget and additionally strengthens the capital position of the Central Bank of Serbia", said the supreme monetary institution.

The CBCG Council proposed to appoint Ivana Joličić, head of the Regulatory Directorate of the Control Sector at the CBCG, as a member of the Management Board of the Deposit Protection Fund.

According to the Law on Deposit Protection, the members of the Management Board are appointed by the President of Montenegro.

The council also adopted a decision on issuing approval for the provision of payment services to the payment institution Alta Pay Group, based in Budva, and considered other issues within its jurisdiction.
