The Parliamentary Club of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) will support port and transport workers in order to find an acceptable model for solving their problems.
The President of DNP, Milan Knežević, received today in the Assembly the President of the Port and Transport Workers' Union, Vladimir Obradović, and the member of the Executive Committee, Nedžad Pinčić.
"Representatives of the Trade Union introduced Knežević to the job description of a port transport worker, which involves physical handling of all types of dangerous goods, with a constant risk of injury and endangerment of life," the announcement states.
44 port transport workers are currently employed on these jobs for an indefinite period, and their representatives expressed the need and request in the conversation with Knežević to consider the possibility of their temporary retirement.
Knežević promised Obradović and Pindžić support in accordance with the competences and capabilities of the DNP caucus, expressing their readiness to find an acceptable model for both the state and the workers together with other caucuses and in consultation with the relevant ministries.
It was also agreed to continue consultations in the following period, in order to reach a solution to the problem of port transport workers as soon as possible.
