Monteput announced a public call for the development of conceptual solutions for the section of the high-speed road from Herceg Novi to Budva, crossing the Bay of Kotor.
As it was announced from Monteput, the purpose of creating the technical documentation is to examine alternative corridors of the high-speed road and its connection with other parts of the main road network. The start of the high-speed road is in the Debeli Brije area, then through the hinterland of Herceg Novi it reaches Tivat or Kotor, and connects to a section whose corridor is unique from the Bratešič area to Budva.
"Given the restrictions related to the area of the city of Kotor, the planner has the task of analyzing all potential variants of connecting the coastal cities, across the Bay of Kotor. It is necessary to look at the natural and cultural-historical area of Kotor in order to preserve its exceptional universal value in in accordance with the world heritage," the announcement reads.
They add that in the previous period, technical documentation was prepared that dealt only with certain variants of the mentioned expressway corridors.
"Well, it is necessary to make conceptual solutions for those potential variants for which technical documentation does not exist. The documentation completed so far represents the starting point on which the conceptual solutions will be made, and which the investor will submit to the chosen designer. The designer needs to analyze a wider area It is important to take care of the connections of the main road with the expressway, that is, the connection with Tivat airport, as well as the city of Kotor".
In the announcement of Monteput, it is also stated that this documentation should serve as the basis for the final determination of the position of this corridor in the Proposal of the Spatial Plan of Montenegro, as well as for future decisions of the Government of Montenegro for further investment plans in transport infrastructure.
"When creating conceptual solutions, one must take into account spatial and planning aspects in terms of choosing the optimal route, location and concept of uneven intersections, toll ramps, location of accompanying and functional contents, ecological aspects, existing infrastructure, existing cultural assets, religious buildings and all other facilities that may be relevant for making a final decision on the position of the route. The project of creating conceptual solutions for the section of the high-speed road from Herceg Novi to Budva represents an important step towards the modernization of the traffic infrastructure in Montenegro," concludes the announcement of Monteput
