The involvement of the business community in creating regulations makes the country an attractive destination

The involvement of the business community in the process of creating regulations and public policies makes Montenegro an attractive investment destination, especially for investors coming from the United States of America, as well as other developed markets of Western Europe, the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) said.

The Minister of Tourism, Ecology, Sustainable Development and Development of the North, Vladimir Martinović, met with the president of the AmCham Board of Directors, Svetlana Vuksanović, who he introduced to the previous work of the department, plans for the future and the obstacles they face.

Vuksanović emphasized the importance of dialogue between decision-makers and investors for the improvement of the business environment in Montenegro, based on the rule of law and equal opportunities. AmCham, together with its members, can offer public administration expertise in many areas of business importance.

Martinović emphasized the importance of closing Chapter 27, and the development of the north and tourism in Montenegro. He invited American companies to invest in Montenegro.

Special attention during the meeting was devoted to the areas of tourism and environmental protection. Martinović said that cooperation should be established with eminent American educational institutions for the training of tourist workers, but also that more intensive promotion of the tourist offer should be started.

"The importance of American investments in environmental protection was emphasized, along with the need to establish a public-private partnership and exchange of experiences. The involvement of the business community in the process of creating regulations and public policies makes Montenegro an attractive investment destination, especially for those investors coming from the United States of America, as well as other developed markets of Western Europe", said AmCham.

They bring with them not only the necessary capital, but also the value system of socially responsible business, which is based on caring for society and the environment in which business is conducted.

Those present agree to further intensify cooperation between the Ministry and AmCham within the framework of the Government of Dialogue platform in the field of creating policies and regulations aimed at environmental protection, in accordance with the obligations from Chapter 27, with a special emphasis on the waste management system, as well as reducing impact of climate change in Montenegro.
