The Minister of Energy and Mining, Saša Mujović, sent a request to the State Audit Institution (DRI) to conduct a financial and business audit of the Pljevlja Coal Mine in accordance with its competences.
"Keeping in mind the legality and high degree of transparency in the work of this Ministry, as well as the great interest of the public in the operations of this business entity, I am asking you to, in order to protect the public interest, and in accordance with your legal powers, carry out a financial and audit of the regularity of the operations of the Coal Mine ", it is stated in the letter that Mujović sent to DRI Senator Zoran Jelić.
His department stated that Mujović's position is that citizens and the economy must be presented with a clean bill for what they pay, and the audit of operations and the balance sheet is a significant step in that direction.
"It will be the best indicator of the application of the adopted principle of transparency of the work of the Ministry of Energy and Mining and a response to the great interest of the public regarding the operation of the Pljevlja Coal Mine, as one of the most important entities for the development of the economy of Montenegro," the announcement states.
