The CEO of Rudnik Uglja (RUP), Mihailo Potpara, welcomed the announcement of the financial and business audit of the Pljeval company, which was recently requested by the Minister of Energy, Saša Mujović, from the State Audit Institution (DRI).
"We believe that this will be a significant step in the direction that, as Mujović announced, the citizens and the economy will be presented with a clean bill for what they pay, even though internal and external audit services are already operating within the RUP, and in accordance with the laws of the state", said Potpara.
He explained that audit procedures in RUP are carried out through internal audit, the Audit Board and the work of an independent audit institution, which is authorized for this work by the state.
"RUP, in accordance with the laws, makes quarterly, half-yearly and annual reports on work and operations, which are delivered to competent institutions and the owner of the capital. Therefore, the transparency of RUP's work already exists, and every independent auditor's report was adopted by the Board of Directors of Elektroprivreda (EPCG), i.e. the owner of the capital," said Potpara.
He asked the relevant Ministry not to stop there, but to carry out all other controls and inspections.
"First of all, we are looking for expert inspections regarding the design of key mining projects, in order to clarify all the media and bazaar stories," said Potpara.
He invited Mujović to initiate a review of the work of ministries, competent institutions, as well as working bodies delegated from RUP, which participated in the process of amendments and additions to the spatial planning documentation in the period of 2019 and 2020, which specifically related to surface kop Potrlica.
In particular, as announced, attention is being drawn to the initiation of that revision, given that due to lack of promptness, recklessness or even deliberate obstruction in the adoption of planning documentation from the period of 2019 and 2020, the process of moving the Ćehotina River, and therefore the continuation, is at risk. coal exploitation.
"An urgent approach to solving the problem of moving the bed of the Ćehotina river is necessary, which I immediately highlighted as a fundamental issue of importance for the survival of the RUP. cause the collapse of the energy system and threaten the supply of households and the economy with electricity," said Potpara.
He called on Mujović to use his professional and personal authority and to actualize and examine previously nominated issues concerning RUP operations from the period before 2021, so that not a single question of the public would remain unanswered.
