The pension membership fee is mainly spent on the expenses of the management of pensioner associations, mainly members of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), whose incomes are up to 1.000 euros.
The president of the Party of Pensioners of Montenegro (PIR) Momo Joksimović, the president of the Association of Pensioners with the lowest and commensurate pensions, Žana Lakićević and Ivan Grdinić told the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Naida Nišić.
"Pravda" Pensioners' Association reported that Nišić received Joksimović, Lakićević and Grdinić for an interview.
The announcement states that representatives of pensioners "informed the minister about the problems faced by the oldest and most numerous class population that built this country".
"Pensioners supported the position of the Government of Montenegro to increase the lowest pension to 450 euros, which is received by about 74.000 pensioners. However, they pointed out that the drafting of a systemic law on PIO must be started, which would correct injustices and discrimination, because pensioners cannot be identified with 15 years of insurance experience, with those pensioners with pension insurance experience of 30 or 40 years, because their savings payments to the PIO Fund are not equal, so their pensions cannot be equal," the announcement reads.
"Pravda" Pensioners Association said that representatives of pensioners informed the minister about the problems of Montenegrin pensioners with proportionate pensions, with the request that this injustice must be corrected.
"They also informed the minister about the inappropriate robbery of the pensioner's membership fee, which instead of serving its purpose, poor and sick pensioners, it is mainly spent on the expenses of the management of pensioner associations, mostly still members of the DPS, whose incomes are up to 1.000 euros, and this was not the goal of the formation of these associations and the Federation of Pensioners. These associations turned into branches of the DPS, which is why they filed a lawsuit in the competent court, to return the stolen money and high incomes as well as 89 pensioner apartments in Podgorica alone, as well as in other cities, there are also business premises that have been stolen from pensioners, which is confirmed by the Report of the Management Board of the PIO Fund," the announcement reads.
The announcement also states that Nišić "indicated the necessity of passing a systemic law on PIO, which would correct numerous injustices, and the issue of proportionate Montenegrin pensioners will be regulated within the given deadlines by the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare and the Government of Montenegro, which is already being done".
"The minister's cooperation with the pensioners who supported the new government will continue in the coming period, to mutual satisfaction," the announcement concludes.
