Improving cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management (MAFW) and local self-governments was the topic of a meeting of their representatives, where that government department presented current and future activities.
The Ministry announced that there is a need for more active involvement of agricultural advisers in municipalities in the implementation of agricultural policy measures, while representatives of local self-governments briefly presented municipal agricultural budgets.
The meeting discussed data exchange models between the Ministry and local self-governments, and special emphasis was placed on improving electronic connectivity in order to better inform farmers about agricultural budget measures and public calls.
The Ministry said that one of the topics was the delineation of areas in order to realize the right to a premium for meadows and pastures. They also discussed problems related to the issuance of urban planning technical conditions in connection with measure IPARD 7.
Representatives of the Ministry called on local self-governments to present their initiatives more often and on a larger scale in the creation of agro-budgetary measures and other activities of that department.
The head of the Animal Husbandry Directorate Ranko Bogavac, state secretaries Krsto Rađenović, Andrija Delić and Salih Gjonbalaj and advisor for olive growing Dubravka Radulović took part in the meeting with 25 representatives of local governments from 15 municipalities.
