The legal representative of the company "Dukley Marina", lawyer Dragan Prelević, said that the latest threats to take over the Port of Budva are "already seen populist political games".
"I guess it's a custom before every tourist season. The contracts that Dukley Marina has on the use of the port of Budva are in full force until 2027 and can only be terminated by a court decision or an agreement with the Maritime Authority. None of that exists, and Dukley Marina is conscientious owner and proper user of the marina," said Prelevic.
He reacted to the statement of the President of the Management Board of JP "Morsko dobro" Blaž Rađenović.
As he emphasized, his client was ready a year ago to reach an agreement according to which only his equipment, which is in the marina, would be paid, and the rest would be settled in court.
"Unfortunately, that agreement was not reached due to problems in Morski Dobr and the Municipality. Any act aimed at the violent takeover of my client's conscientious state or property is a criminal offense. Everyone in Morski Dobr and the Municipality knows this very well, but I hereby warn them about it once again "For the sake of the citizens and new clients of the port of Budva, I repeat that the price list of berths in the port is determined by Morsko Dobro every year and that Dukley Marina is the legal operator of the Port of Budva, which has been functioning flawlessly all these years, despite being the subject of political ambitions," concluded Prelevic.
