At today's session, the Government of Montenegro did not have complete documentation regarding the possible termination of the concession contract with the company "Brskovo Mine", which is why it was not even on the agenda.

According to unofficial information from Vijesta, the government will request additional analyzes on the possible damage that the state would suffer if the concessionaire were to initiate arbitration or a lawsuit due to the termination of the contract.

Commenting on the situation with the Brskovo mine, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić said at a press conference after the Government session that he would consult with international law firms about the project.

"We are all in favor of terminating the concessions for Brskovo and we understand the sincere desire of the Minister of Energy, but the way of working is important," Spajić said.

He pointed out that the termination of the contract could cause fiscal damage.

The working group for the analysis of the concession contract for the reopening of the Brskovo mine near Mojkovac on Wednesday adopted the conclusion by majority of votes that the concessionaire "Brskovo Mine" is no longer extended the concession issued in 2010, for which the deadlines have been changed six times so far.

According to "Vijesti" information, representatives of state institutions, the Office of the Protector of State Property and Legal Interests, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Institute for Public Health, the Geological Survey, the ministries of energy and mining and ecology, as well as representatives of the non-governmental sector, voted against extending the concession.

Two representatives of the concessionaire were in favor of extending the concession, while the representative of the Ministry of Finance abstained with the explanation that they could not analyze the potential damage to the state if the concession is terminated and the concessionaire sues the state for compensation.
