The government has prepared new agreements that will regulate the calculation of concession fees for the use of hydropower potential.
Information about this was adopted at today's session of the executive power.
In the information, among other things, it is pointed out that the company "Hidroenergija Montenegro", which has two concluded concession contracts under which eight small hydropower plants were built on the Bistrica and Šekular watercourses, concluded annexes to the contract on the purchase of electricity on the market on December 20 last year, which essential elements for the calculation of the concessionaire's income have been changed.
"There is a need to draw up a new agreement that will regulate a new way of calculating concession fees, in accordance with the realization of income based on the amended purchase agreement," the Government's press release points out.
Until 2018, the co-owner of the company "Hidroenergija Montenegro" was Aleksandar Aco Mijajlović with Ranko Ubović, while the current owners are Ranko Radović and Oleg Obradović. Until two years ago, this company had a safe purchase of electricity of about eight million euros per year, from the money that all citizens pay through their electricity bill. After that, the company withdrew from this system and switched to the exchange sale of electricity due to higher prices.
In addition, the Government announced that they accepted the Agreement on the calculation of the concession fee from the concession contract for the construction of small hydropower plants "Jezerštica", "Bistrica", "Jelovica 1 and 2" on the Bistrica watercourse.
As stated, the Agreement on the calculation of the concession fee from the Concession Agreement under the combined DBOT arrangement for the exploration of the Šekularska watercourse, as well as the techno-economic use of water energy potential for the production of electricity in small hydroelectric plants, was also accepted.
