Laketić took office as acting director of the Tax Administration

The Minister of Finance, Novica Vuković, as the coordinator of the Tax Administration, today handed over the duties to the newly elected acting director of that institution, Sava Laketić.

Wishing success in his work at the head of the Tax Administration, which forms the core of the state's financial system, Vuković said that he expects the new director to make a full contribution to the systemic strengthening of that body and the improvement of its overall functionality, while achieving common goals - a more efficient reform of the tax system and the strengthening of the tax system. disciplines.

Laketić said that he approaches this demanding job responsibly and that he will perform it with full commitment, in the interest of the state, citizens and the economy, with concrete measures for simpler and more efficient servicing of all taxpayers.

He emphasized a determined commitment to the complete professionalization of the body he will manage, advocating for absolute efficiency, measurable results, depoliticization and the absence of selectivity in action.

It was jointly stated that one of the priorities in the coming period should be more efficient collection of tax revenues and accumulated debt, while at the same time expanding the tax scope, which is particularly important for strengthening the revenue side of the budget and the stability of state finances.

At the meeting, it was assessed that full focus should be given to tax administration reform, compliance with tax regulations, modernization of procedures, all in accordance with the practices of highly developed countries of the European Union.

Laketić comes to the head of the Tax Administration from the position of executive director of the auditing company PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for Montenegro. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), and in addition to his enviable experience in the field of auditing, he actively participated in significant projects of application of international financial reporting standards (IFRS), improvement of internal processes and procedures, as well as financial management and reporting.

The handover of duties was also attended by the general director of the Directorate for Tax and Customs System in the Ministry of Finance, Biljana Peranović, as well as representatives of organizational units of the Tax Administration.
