MP of the New Serbian Democracy and former executive director of Rudnik Uglja Milan Lekić claims that the deputy of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in the Assembly of the Municipality of Pljevlja Saša Ječmenica uses brutal falsehoods and shows his ignorance when it comes to the planned sale of coal to the companies "Energy Industrial" and "Tatius". .

"Ječmenica is trying to act as a "general after the battle", and thus with "hindsight" he is trying to denigrate our attempt to help Pljevlja and Montenegro, in contrast to the thirty-year rule of the DPS, which devastated what existed before them." , said Lekic to "Vijesta".

Last week, Ječmenica invited the prosecution to investigate the six-year contract signed by Lekić with the company "Tatius Balkan" from Belgrade on the delivery of large quantities of coal. The member of DPS claims that the contract was signed the day after the company was founded in Belgrade by the wife of Ukrainian Oleksander Petrošenko and Lekić's cousin Nikola Ljiljanić.

"RUP signed a contract with Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) on the sale of coal in May 2023. However, what prompted me to think about this issue is Lekić's statement in the Parliament of Montenegro, that business is not done with state-owned companies, but with private companies. Also, the presentation of Oleksander Petrošenko as the best investor in the last ten years who appeared in Pljevlja, and after learning that this investor has disappeared and does not appear in the municipality of Pljevlja, even though he invested significant funds in the coal dust briquetting factory. My knowledge is that the company "Enerdži Holding" has been blocking an account of 35.000 euros for a long time and that it remains indebted to all suppliers, especially RUP, and "Kastelo Montenegro" as two state companies that entered into business relations with the Ukrainian. It is important that at the moment when he starts business in Pljevlje, both companies are managed by the Lekić couple," said Ječmenica to "Vijesta".

Lekić says that Ječmenica forgot that his party successfully led a criminal policy, the result of which was the dismissal of 11 thousand Pljeval workers, the destruction of "Vektra Jakić" and numerous other companies that had the sad fate of being managed by DPS.

Lekić clarified that when signing the contract, they were not guided by the names of those companies, nor by who their executive director is, but they had the noble intention to create new jobs, employ the citizens of Pljevlja and create benefits for RUP, the Municipality of Pljevlja and Montenegro.

"The circumstances and information we had then are diametrically opposed to the information we have today. At the time of signing the contract with RUP, the owner of the company "Energy Industrial" Oleksandar Petroshenko had huge investments in the project for the production of coal pellets and briquettes. "RUP representatives visited works and investments, and everyone expected dozens of new jobs in Pljevlja," said Lekić.

In such circumstances, he points out, all the efforts of the management of the Mine were aimed at a larger placement of coal in anticipation of the ecological reconstruction of the Pljevlja Thermal Power Plant, projected to last up to eight months, during which the Mine could face the problem of not being able to sell coal to the Thermal Power Plant itself.

"Guided precisely by that thought, we believed that the realization of the project for the production of coal pellets and briquettes would provide a great benefit, and that is precisely why the aforementioned contracts were signed, with the best of intentions and positive expectations," said Lekić.

He claims that the non-implementation of those contracts did not cause any damage to RUP.

"Because the largest company in Pljevlja has hundreds of contracts for sale, and their implementation depends on the market conditions at the time of implementation, and therefore the sale becomes a consequence of the market, where the circumstances are objective and do not harm the Mine in terms of anyone's responsibility. It is important to add that valuable equipment, as well as a larger quantity of over 100 tons of pellets owned by the debtor, is located in the production hall, and the unpaid claim of Rudnik of around 15 thousand euros will be able to be collected in the prescribed procedure", claims Lekić.
