The establishment of air connections between Montenegro and Romania would be a significant step in strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of economy and tourism, it was assessed at the meeting of President Jakov Milatović with Romanian Prime Minister Marćel Ćolaku in Bucharest.
As announced by Milatović's cabinet, he pointed out the most important foreign policy priorities of Montenegro at the meeting with Ćolaku, stating that Montenegro is committed to achieving full membership in the European Union (EU).
"Both sides expressed interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation, with emphasis on the importance of establishing air connections between the two countries, which would be a significant step in the field of strengthening cooperation in the field of economy and tourism," the statement said.
Milatović, as stated, pointed out that Montenegro has fully harmonized its policy with the common foreign and security policy of the EU.
It is added that Milatović met with the President of the Senate of Romania, Nikolae Ćuk, and the President of the House of Representatives, Alfredo Simonis, in the Parliamentary Palace.
"During separate meetings with representatives of the Romanian Parliament, it was established that the relations between the two countries are characterized by traditional friendship and excellent bilateral cooperation," the announcement states.
