Economic analyst Predrag Drecun reacted to today's statement by the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, about his appointment to the Board of Directors of the Investment and Development Fund (IRF), saying that he is not "a symbol of any private state".
Drecun said that he expected "much more breadth" from Milatović, "a scholarship holder of Duško Knežević, a symbol of an era".
"You yourself know that I gave my best to help you defeat Milo Đukanović in the presidential race. My work in the field is well known to you and your colleagues, both former and current. You know very well that we celebrated the victory together, and you know where, in to a very narrow circle of eminent people, where you were with your wife," said Drecun in a response to the media.
He also says that he begged Milatović not to create a split in the Europe Now Movement.
"You know very well that you thanked me for my support after the victory at a party in a restaurant in Podgorica. You know a lot, but you chose another path. So be it. It will be easier for those who want progress for Montenegro. You know very well that I am not a symbol of no private states, and that's why you remained silent until you saw that in your conflict with Milojko Spajić I clearly sided with the vision and economic revival of Montenegro, which is the only thing I'm interested in. Unfortunately, you chose the politics of the past, even though you're a young man , instead of supporting the visions of the Prime Minister's economic program," says Drecun.
He assessed that Milatović did not support the program of economic reforms "Europe Now 1" sincerely, "but from the first row of the audience".
"But that's who you are, the way you are. You can't be better. I thought we were fighting for a president who would act according to the Constitution, and not based on the political program of the party he was preparing to found. We were fighting for a president who would The Constitution limits and who, unlike your predecessor, will be the president of all citizens. Unfortunately, we got a bad copy, and let me not forget, a president who only knows four cases," concluded Drecun.
