China and Montenegro cherish traditional friendship, and there is a huge potential for cooperation in the field of agriculture between the two countries, said the Chinese ambassador in Podgorica, Fan Kun.
During his visit to the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Vladimir Joković, Fan said that China is a large agricultural country, and that the Chinese government attaches great importance to agricultural issues.
He said that China is ready to actively promote the export of Montenegrin high-quality agricultural products to that country, and to work on strengthening exchange and cooperation in the field of agriculture, creating new opportunities for cooperation in the field of ecological, smart and digital agriculture.
Joković emphasized the importance of advanced technology in the field of agriculture possessed by China, expressing the readiness of Montenegro to improve cooperation in that sector. It was also pointed out that Montenegro will actively work on increasing the export of agricultural products such as Montenegrin wine and meat products, and that investments from Chinese companies are welcome, especially in the fishing and forestry sectors.
At the meeting, the importance of successful cooperation in the field of education and organization of study visits to China for experts in agriculture was highlighted. Also, the possibilities of attracting Chinese investments and expanding cooperation, as well as in the development of smart and ecological agriculture, were considered.
