Fragkogianis: Greek companies interested in investing in Montenegro

Greek companies are interested in investing in Montenegro, announced the representative of the Greek Government, Konstantinos Fragkogianis, stressing the need to strengthen the mutual economic ties of the countries of the Western Balkans, with a focus on green energy, renewable energy sources, infrastructure, banking and tourism.

The Minister of Finance, Novica Vuković, and the Acting Director of the Investment Agency, Snežana Đurović, together with their colleagues, spoke today with Fragkogianis, who is the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece and the country's ambassador to Montenegro, Panayotis Partsos, about the possibilities of deepening economic cooperation between the two countries. .

Vuković, as announced by the Ministry, said that the Government is very open to new investors, reminding that the drafting of a law on strategic investments is also planned.

He also pointed to the important role of the Investment Agency in creating a more attractive environment for investors, support in implementation, but also monitoring the flow of investments.

Fragkogianis emphasized that Greece wholeheartedly supports the acceleration of the integration path and Montenegro's full membership in the European Union (EU), stressing the country's readiness to provide Montenegro with the necessary expert and technical support on that path.

Vuković thanked for the open support, stressing that joining the European family is the leading foreign policy goal of the Government.

"At the meeting, it was concluded that the traditionally good cooperation between the two countries, as evidenced by the significant presence of Greek companies in Montenegro, can be further intensified, which will be worked on jointly in the future, as ordered," the announcement concludes.
