Last year, according to Monstat data, there were 320,1 thousand active population in Montenegro, of which 278,3 thousand or 86,9 percent were employed.
Of the total active population, 41,8 thousand or 13,1 percent are unemployed.
Compared to last year, the number of employees increased by 10,8 percent, and the number of unemployed decreased by 3,2 percent.
Of the total number of active population, 173,6 thousand or 54,2 percent are men, and 146,5 thousand or 45,8 percent are women.
"The largest number of employees are people in the age group of 25 to 49 years, 164,8 thousand employees. Also, the largest number of unemployed are people in the same age group, i.e. 27,6 thousand unemployed", it is stated in the announcement.
The structure of employees according to sectors of activity shows that the highest participation of employees in the service sector is 77,1 percent, then in the non-agricultural sector (industry and construction) 18,4 percent and in the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector 4,5 percent.
The survey covered 7,48 thousand households.
Data on demographic characteristics were collected for all household members, 19,2 thousand of them, and for 16,84 thousand persons aged 15 to 89, and data on their work activity.
