The government announced that all stores, which have retail outlets with a total square footage of over 600 square meters, fulfilled the obligation from the Decision on Limiting Margins, and that this resulted in discounts for the benefit of citizens.
"The campaign 'Limited prices' is in full swing and includes a wide range of products, and thanks to the joint effort of the Government and the economy, over 600 items at reduced prices are available to the citizens of Montenegro in certain chains," the announcement states.
They point out that, in one of the retail chains, the difference in prices before and after the start of the campaign on individual items "reaches as much as 48 percent", and that, when looking at the consumer basket that includes all items, the average price reduction is about 20 percent.
They say that, in addition, the retail chains have additionally enriched the offer of affordable products while maintaining their usual promotions, "whereby the selection of affordable items has been further expanded, which is particularly useful for citizens."
"In this context, it is important to emphasize the support for Montenegrin producers, which not only stimulates the domestic economy, but also emphasizes the importance of using products from Montenegro. Domestic products occupy a special place in this initiative, allowing more funds to remain in the local community and contribute to the development of the domestic economy", states the Government.
They also point out that market inspections regularly check facilities, reminding that there are penalties for non-compliance with the Decision.
The government has also submitted a complete list of discounted items in one of the retail chains, which can be downloaded HERE.
