The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, will travel to Vilnius tomorrow, where he will participate in the summit of the Three Seas Initiative.
Milatović was invited to the summit by the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nauseda, as announced by his cabinet.
It is said that the call was the result of a bilateral meeting they had at the Munich Security Conference in February this year.
"This is the first participation of Montenegro in the Summit, which has been regularly held at the presidential level since its establishment in 2016," the announcement states.
Milatović's cabinet said that the goal of the Three Seas Initiative is the development of the economy and the strengthening of ties between the regions of Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the improvement of cooperation in the field of transport, digitalization and energy.
"Today, this political platform includes 13 member states of the European Union, while it is supported and actively participated in by strategic partners such as the European Commission, the United States of America and Germany," stated Milatović's cabinet.
The announcement states that Montenegro's participation at the Initiative summit will be an added impetus to our integration path towards full membership in the EU.
