The Central Bank (CBCG) today awarded annual awards for the best papers in the field of banking, monetary policy and theory.
The CBCG announced that the award for the best graduate thesis, in the amount of three thousand euros, was awarded to Kristina Popović for the work Asymmetric Information in Banking and Insurance.
"The prize for the best master's thesis, in the amount of four thousand euros, was awarded to Milica Petković for the work Analysis of the liquidity of the banking system of Montenegro in crisis conditions: the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic," the announcement states.
The award for the best doctoral thesis was not awarded this year, because the submitted papers did not correspond to the given topic of the competition.
On the occasion of the CBCG Day, as the president of the Commission for the awarding of the annual award, the CBCG Governor Irena Radović presented the awards to the winners.
Explaining the decision of the Commission, which was made up of prominent professors of Montenegrin universities, and among whom there are previous winners of the CBCG Annual Award, as well as CBCG experts, Radović said that the selection process was demanding, that it took place with full transparency and commitment, and that every work is carefully analyzed, and decisions are made respecting the highest standards of objectivity and integrity.
"Today's event is also an opportunity to highlight the support that CBCG provides to academic achievements. In the coming period, the CBCG will be especially dedicated to supporting young talents and their progress in the field of finance and economy," said Radović.
She stated that they are proud to be part of a community that values knowledge, research and innovation, and that they are able to support the development of future leaders through projects and scholarships for young talents, which they will soon launch.
The CBCG annual award was established in 2007, with the aim of stimulating scientific thought and affirmation of young and professional staff in Montenegro. The award consists of a plaque and a monetary part, which this year has been increased by one thousand euros per category.
Since its establishment, 51 graduates, masters and doctors of science have received the annual award.
