Labor market, pension, social or any other reforms will not be the result of unilateral decisions of the Government, which was not the case until now, announced the Ministry of Finance (MF).

The department headed by Novica Vuković said that responsible and transparent fiscal policy, improving the standards of employees and improving the business environment for performing economic activities, along with stable public finances, are the main goals of the Ministry of Finance.

They reacted on the occasion of the announcement of the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro, which states "how worrying and extremely unacceptable it is to learn that the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, without the direct involvement of social partners, is preparing a 'set of laws' and is working on the reform of the pension system which will, among other things, imply a 'correction of contributions' at the expense of the employer and a reshaping of the role of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund".

"In the context of the interview, which is the basis for the reaction of the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro, Minister Vuković spoke about the reforms planned by the 44th Government, which will be an integral part of the Fiscal Strategy, which is the main fiscal policy document for the period of this Government's mandate. All decisions that concerning the position of employees, as well as decisions concerning the economic environment in which the economy operates were and will be carefully analyzed and considered on the basis of a tripartite dialogue between the Government, trade unions and employers, which, in addition to our need, is also a legal obligation," the statement reads. MF.

From this government department, they said that social dialogue is based on mutual trust, and that Milojko Spajić's government in the current mandate has proven this "through inclusive dialogue when adopting amendments to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance, draft amendments to the Labor Law and the like".

"In order to further inform the public, Minister Vuković spoke about the planned reforms, which, in order to be proposed for adoption, must be the result of a consensus between social partners, in order to bring the best solutions for citizens. Once again, we point out that the Ministry of Finance is always open to cooperation in with the aim of enacting inclusive policies, for the benefit of all citizens of Montenegro," the announcement concludes.
