Airports of Montenegro (ACG) will today terminate the contracts with the two Podgorica taxi associations "Royal Taxi" and "Halo Taxi", which by law cannot operate in the territory of the municipality of Zeta, and soon announce a new tender, "Vijesti" learned from a source from ACG.
According to the instructions of the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs (MSP), which is responsible for road traffic, only taxi associations with a license issued by that municipality can drive in the territory of a municipality.
It is not clear who will be able to transport passengers from Podgorica airport to the city and other destinations until the tender procedure is completed, and "Vijesti" has learned that in the recent instructions of the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs it is said that only taxi drivers with a license from the Municipality of Zeta will be able to work. .
"Taking into account the previously mentioned provisions from the aspect of supervision, it is indisputable that auto taxi transport can be carried out on the territory of the local self-government and occasionally from the territory of the local self-government that issued the license, which in this particular case means that passengers can only be picked up from Podgorica Airport by auto taxi carriers that the municipality of Zeta issued a license", it is stated in the document that "Vijesti" had access to.
The Airport management hopes that the tender for the selection of two taxi associations will be completed as soon as possible.
The taxi associations "Royal taksi" and "Halo taksi" concluded contracts with the Airports of Montenegro after August 16, 2022, when Zeta became an independent municipality.
As ACG previously explained to "News", the contract with the company "Royal plus" was concluded on April 4 last year, while the public invitation was announced on February 24, 2023.
The contract with the company "Halo Taxi", as they said, was signed on January 11 this year, based on a public call from November 10, 2023, after the third announcement.

As Podgorica Airport is located on cadastral plot 541/12 from real estate list 2656 KO Golubovci, the fact is that Podgorica associations have been illegally transporting passengers since the formation of the Municipality of Zeta, because they did not have a license from the competent municipality.
The Municipality of Zeta has therefore filed criminal charges against the current Acting Director of the Airport, Vladan Drašković, and the former President of the Board of Directors of ACG, Eldin Dobardžić, for concluding such a contract, accusing them of abuse of office.

The application states that Drašković and Dobardžić enabled the companies "Royal Plus" and "Halo taxi", "which have the same owner and executive director", to perform taxi transportation services from the airport, "by leasing them taxi stands, even though the commercial According to the Law on the Transportation of Passengers in Road Traffic, companies may not do so on the territory of the Municipality of Zeta".
