During the holidays, two shops were closed, while the market and labor inspection issued 42 misdemeanor orders of 27,9 thousand euros, the Directorate for Inspection Affairs (UIP) announced.
They said that during the national holiday of Independence Day, the market inspection inspectors intensified their control on the territory of the whole of Montenegro.
"During Tuesday and Wednesday, 18 inspections were carried out, where nine irregularities were found and 14 misdemeanor orders were issued in the total amount of 5,2 thousand euros", said the UIP.
The market inspection, as it is added, closed two business establishments that worked during the national holiday, and two souvenir shops that worked without a work permit were recorded and sanctioned in accordance with the law.
It is stated that the labor inspection carried out 56 inspections on Tuesday and Wednesday.
"Thereby, 25 irregularities were determined for which 28 misdemeanor orders were issued in the total amount of 22,7 thousand euros and six requests were submitted for the initiation of misdemeanor proceedings," the announcement says.
The UIP said that the identified irregularities most often related to the fact that the employer did not make a written decision on working during holidays and did not inform the labor inspection about it.
"Employees were caught without an employment contract and application for mandatory social security, also employers in business premises, i.e. the place of work of a foreigner, did not have a copy of a residence and work permit," the statement added.
UIP appealed to all businessmen to respect the legal regulations and thereby contribute to the creation of a positive business environment with loyal competition in which everyone will prosper.
