Former workers of Košuta from Cetinje once again stopped the traffic between Cetinje and Podgorica in Kruševo ždžrijelo today, demanding from the Government that, among other things, they be paid back wages.
Workers are considering the possibility of expanding the protests by blocking traffic unannounced.
They justify their position by saying that similar situations are happening all over Montenegro, Cetinjski list reports.
"If the people who protested in front of the Government building could do it without approval and announcement of the meeting, we can too," said Dragan Martinović, a former employee of Košuta.
Workers' representative Dijana Vujović told RTV Cetinje that they were disappointed by the fact that Cetinje Mayor Nikola Đurašković and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić did not discuss their situation during the recent meeting.
"We will not abandon the protests on the highway. We hoped that our mayor would talk to the prime minister about the workers who have been protesting on the street for more than three months, and who have been waiting for their legally guaranteed rights for 28 years. We had tolerance and understanding for the numerous demands of the Capital. We also believed that the line minister Naida Nišić would invite us for an interview, but since May 14, when we submitted the request, we have not received any feedback," said Vujović.
The Cetinje factory went bankrupt in 2001, and the claims of almost 700 workers amount to approximately three million euros.
The traffic blockade lasted from 11 a.m. to 15 p.m.
