The Tax Administration (PU), the Association of Banks (UBCG) and the Board of Associations of Banking and Other Financial Organizations and Insurance of the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation yesterday, which will enable cooperation based on transparency and common interests.
"The exchange of data between institutions will enable a better insight into them, which reduces risk and creates preconditions for the development of digitalization of business, as well as a greater and more efficient degree of determination and payment of tax obligations," announced the PU.
The Acting Director of the PU, Sava Laketić, said that the goal of the PU is to achieve better access to the banks' database, which will enable better control and easier determination of tax obligations.
He added that PU will continue to work proactively in order to improve communication among all institutions of the system.
The General Secretary of UBCG, Bratislav Pejaković, assessed that digitization changes the environment, accelerates and gives new quality when making decisions, and there is no quality digitization without the cooperation of institutions.
"The banking sector is leading the way in the digitalization of services, and with this cooperation with PU we are making another valuable step forward that will benefit our clients and bring us even closer to the quality of service offered by banks in developed countries," said Pejaković.
Chairman of the Board of the Association of Banking and Other Financial Organizations and Insurance PKCG, Miloš Miketić, announced that the connection of databases between PU and commercial banks is a significant step towards improving the business environment, increasing the efficiency of these institutions, but also simplifying the process for users of their services.
"This is an extremely important step in enabling further digitization of the financial sector," said Miketić.
The memorandum signifies the deepening of cooperation between the state and private sectors in order to improve public services. For this purpose, the signatories will establish mechanisms for the automatic exchange of data and information through secure communication links.
