The government will terminate the contract for the company "Tara resources" on the exploitation of ore in the Brskovo mine near Mojkovac, announced the Minister of Mining and Energy Saša Mujović.
He emphasized that there will be no mines in this northern municipality, and that the concessionaire has not submitted the agreed documentation.
"The conditions have been met for the unilateral termination of this contract and the collection of the bank guarantee", said Mujović at the press conference.
Mujović previously said that he would send a letter to the company "Tara Resources", which wants to open a mine, that they would go in the direction of terminating the contract, if the concessionaire does not remove all the irregularities related to the submitted feasibility study within 60 days. but that he will conduct negotiations on mutual termination of the contract in parallel because he believes that this is the best option for both parties.
Mujović stated that the profession won in the process, and that the Government respected national institutions.
He stated that the concessionaire has the right to appeal and arbitration.
"We are ready for all options, justice is on our side and court practice," Mujović said.
Mujović added that it is difficult to give an estimate of the potential amount and damages from the arbitration at this moment.
