The Union of Employers of Montenegro (UPCG) and the Environmental Protection Agency signed a Memorandum of Cooperation which, as announced, will enable the implementation of joint programs, projects and initiatives that support the development of entrepreneurship, and promote environmental responsibility in the business community.
The memorandum was signed by the president of UPCG, Slobodan Mikavica, and the director of the Environmental Protection Agency, Milan Gazdić.
Mikavica said that the conclusion of the Memorandum is the best confirmation of the long-standing institutional partnership of the UPCG and the Environmental Protection Agency.
"And at the same time, it is an indicator of readiness to strengthen mutual cooperation, which in the coming period will result in numerous joint activities that bring benefit to businessmen and the entire Montenegrin society," Mikavica said.
Gazdić stated that the signing of the Memorandum is a continuation of long-standing successful cooperation on numerous projects that concern the environment and the economy.
"With UPCG in the previous period, we realized a large number of events, conferences and round tables for the benefit of the economy and the community. In this sense, today we are officially formalizing our cooperation", pointed out Gazdić.
As announced by the UPCG and the Agency, the Memorandum on Cooperation establishes the principles and forms of cooperation between the Union and the Agency, which rests on the foundations of mutual respect and understanding, and is implemented in the interest of achieving common goals.
It is stated that the main goal of the document is to facilitate the implementation of joint programs, projects and initiatives that support the development of entrepreneurship through mutual cooperation, based on partnership.
"And in the business community, they promote environmental responsibility, encourage the development of a circular economy and green businesses, and provide a contribution to environmental protection, preservation of natural resources and sustainable development," the joint statement added.
The signatories, as announced, agreed that the subject of mutual interest is the promotion and familiarization with the new Law on Waste Management, as well as the promotion of ecological responsibility and environmental protection among the business community and other members of the public.
UPCG and the Agency will implement joint projects in the areas of circular economy, waste management, environmental protection and sustainable development, implement education programs, organize business and other events.
The announcement states that the Union and the Agency will inform each other about the research, economic and other analyzes carried out by one side, exchange business-relevant information that encourages the further work of the UPCG and the Agency and contributes to the improvement of cooperation.
It is added that UPCG and the Agency will jointly apply for funds from European Union funds and promote joint activities through communication channels.
