The new Branch Collective Agreement (GKU) for the activity of tourism and hospitality, which will be applied instead of the GKU from 2021, has been concluded for an indefinite period, the Union of Employers (UPCG) announced.
The GKU was signed by the president of the Tourism and Hospitality Trade Union, Radomir Milić, and the president of the UPCG, Slobodan Mikavica.
"With this GKU, new regulations concerning overtime work were introduced and the redistribution of working hours was regulated more precisely, in the sense that free working days when the employee does not work, after the end of the tourist season, are also counted within it. With that change, doubts in practice were avoided and eventual court cases were prevented," explained UPCG.
As stated, the contracted wages for typical hospitality occupations are also recognized, as well as the employer's obligation to pay winter leave for employees who are employed by that employer on the day the decision is made.
"For the first time, this GKU prescribes that if the employee has given his consent and the employer has provided a meal during work at his own expense, the employer will not be obliged to pay part of the amount of the special part of the salary in the name of food allowance. The initial coefficient of job complexity for determining the basic salary is 5,10", said the UPCG.
The act of signing was attended by representatives of trade unions and employers.
