The active tourism festival will be held in Kolašin during the last three days of June, and the organizers are announcing a program that will enable visitors to learn about all the advantages of the city and its surroundings when it comes to active vacations.
The director of the local Tourist Organization (TO) Zorica Milašinović reminds that the festival is organized thanks to the cross-border cooperation project "Tourism for the Future".
"That tourist festival tries to build a branded tourist identity and to show all the possibilities that Kolašin offers when it comes to active tourism. During three days, through 30 different activities and events, it will enable all participants to explore the natural beauty of Kolašin, feel a real adventure and get to know the cultural heritage of the city", she says.
Milašinović explains that the activities include walking tours, panoramic jeep rides, a visit to the National Park "Biogradska gora" and a walk along the educational trail, boat rides on the lake...
The participants of the festival will have the opportunity to try out the bicycle paths, to go hiking, as well as to try their hand at rock climbing... Canyoning, rafting, trail running are also part of the festival...
"An educational corner will also be organized, and the youngest participants will have access to an adventure park, they will be able to engage in artistic painting and go through the cultural route 'Kolašin through time'." In addition to all that, a tasting of rich traditional cuisine will be organized. During the duration of the Festival, an entertainment and musical program will be organized in the evenings at Trg boraca", announced the director of TO.
The Tourism for the Future project is implemented by the Municipality of Kolašin in partnership with the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (IPER), Prishtina REA and the Mountaineering Society Đeravica, within the framework of the EU Cross-Border Cooperation Program Montenegro - Kosovo. Expected results include “a more resilient and interconnected tourism ecosystem, fostering economic growth and environmental responsibility”.
TO announce that during the upcoming tourist summer, significant attention will be devoted to enriching the non-boarding offer, through the organization of events. This intention was recognized by the executive power, so the budget rebalancing for this year foresees a new budget item - tourist manifestations, which is planned in the amount of 70.000 euros. As they explained, the local administration recognized "the need for additional investment in tourism and the organization of events in order to better position Kolašin on the map of attractive tourist destinations, especially during the summer tourist season, which is of key importance for the economic development of the municipality...".
