Montenegro and Cyprus signed a memorandum between the Montenegrin and Cypriot maritime administrations, the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs announced.

The Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Filip Radulović, who signed the Memorandum, said that the document represents a step forward in strengthening ties between the two countries in the maritime field and opens new horizons for Montenegrin seafarers.

"The memorandum allows our seafarers to gain access to new employment opportunities on ships sailing under the Cypriot flag. This not only broadens the perspectives of our maritime industry, but also opens the door for Montenegrin seafarers to high-quality work opportunities in the international maritime sector," said Radulović.

He stated that this initiative represents an obligation and confirmation that Montenegro fully applies STCW regulations and standards, which ensures that our seafarers have access to the highest standards of training, safety and quality of work.

Radulović said that this Memorandum broadens horizons for Montenegrin sailors, both those with long-term experience and cadets.

"Now, without administrative obstacles, our seafarers have the opportunity to start working on ships under the Cypriot flag, where there are currently over a thousand ships, with the highest standards of training, safety and quality of work, making this initiative crucial for the future of our maritime industry", said Radulović.

The Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs is working intensively to improve the status and working conditions of our seafarers in the global maritime market.

The signing of this Memorandum is, as it is concluded, another step in that direction and a clear indication of their commitment to improving the perspective of our seafarers on the global maritime labor market.
