Minister of Finance Novica Vuković officially took over the chairmanship of the Steering Committee of the Center for Excellence in Finance (CEF) today, at the annual meeting of that body held in Chisinau, Moldova.
As announced by the Ministry of Finance, Vuković thanked the previous chairperson, governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Anca Dana Drago, for her successful leadership.
Vuković added that Montenegro is aware of the importance of its role and responsibility in the upcoming one-year presidency.
He emphasized that he appreciates it as a form of recognition for efforts and achievements at the national level, as well as the region as a whole.
"We greatly appreciate the overall work of CEF in Montenegro, especially regional activities such as the "WeLead" project, numerous initiatives in the audit sector and opportunities to strengthen and build the capacity of civil servants in the field of public finance management," said Vuković.
He assessed that the support provided by CEF to coordination teams for the reform of public administration and public finance management is very important, which, he said, should become a model for planning and implementing future technical assistance.
Vuković emphasized that it is extremely important to improve the capacity and skills of professionals within the public administration and that, from the point of view of the chairman of the CEF Board of Directors, he will make a full contribution to the achievement of that goal and the better use of the expertise of EU member states, with the aim of more effective implementation of reforms and negotiations with the EU .
"He wished a successful and productive working year to all CEF members, emphasizing the importance of joint work and partnership in the upcoming processes of reform and strengthening of public finance management," the statement said.
