Regional cooperation of aviation authorities is at an enviable level, and its intensification is particularly important for faster development in this area.
This is the assessment of the directors of the competent institutions for civil aviation of the countries of the region, ahead of the meeting of the Joint Committee of the ECAA agreement on the creation of a common European aviation area, which is being held in Podgorica.
Director of the Civil Aviation Agency (ACV), Ivan Šćekić, hosted Filip Kornelis, director of aviation in the European Commission (Directorate General for Mobility and Transport - DG MOVE) and colleagues from civil aviation agencies/directorates of Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, of Kosovo and North Macedonia.
The interlocutors discussed, among other things, the improvement of coordinated performance at the international level in the achievement of common goals in the field of aviation, the ACV press release says.
"We are working hard to successfully implement European standards and for the countries to have full benefits from this agreement. It is a pleasure that the quality of the safety and security system of civil aviation is constantly improving," it was announced.
The directors of the regional competent institutions, it is added, agree that the two-day meeting of the Joint Committee is an opportunity for representatives of the European Commission to be convinced of the commitment to fulfilling the obligations of the ECAA agreement.
The director of the Directorate of Civil Aviation of Serbia, Mirjana Čizmarov, the director of the Directorate of Civil Aviation of Albania, Maksim Ethemaj, the director of the Directorate of Civil Aviation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zorislav Ivanović, and the director general of the Civil Aviation Authority of Kosovo, Burim Dinarama, took part in the meeting at the Montenegrin Agency. The representative of the Civil Aviation Agency of North Macedonia, Veti Gjorgjieska - Atanasoska, was also present.
