According to Monstat data, the average salary without taxes and contributions in May amounted to 832 euros, which was 0,5 percent higher than in April.
The average net salary in May, compared to the same month last year, recorded a growth of 4,9 percent.
The average gross salary in May was 1,04 thousand euros.
"If it is taken into account that consumer prices in May compared to April recorded an increase of 0,1 percent, it follows that real earnings for the same period increased by 0,4 percent," the statement of Monstat states.
Compared to the previous month, the average earnings without taxes and contributions in May recorded growth in the sectors of accommodation and catering services by two percent, water supply, waste water management and administrative and auxiliary service activities by 1,5 percent each, health and social care 1,3, 1,2 percent, manufacturing industry 1,1 percent, artistic entertainment and recreational activities XNUMX percent.
Growth was also recorded by the sectors construction and transport and storage by one percent each, supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 0,8 percent, wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles 0,7 percent, information and communications 0,6 percent and agriculture, forestry and fishing 0,1 percent.
The decrease in average earnings without taxes and contributions in May compared to April was recorded in the financial and insurance sectors by 1,7 percent, real estate business by 0,3 percent, mining and quarrying by 0,2 percent, and professional, scientific and technical activities, state administration and defense: mandatory social insurance, education and other service activities 0,1 percent each.
