A quality study that will include medicine, tourism and education must be the foundation on which the new "Simo Milošević" Institute will grow, said Deputy Prime Minister Srđan Pavićević.

The Government said that after the account of the Igalo Institute was unblocked after more than 200 days, the Government delegation, headed by Pavićević, visited the institution and spoke with the management, workers, minority shareholders, and representatives of the Municipality of Herceg Novi.

The management of the Institute thanked the Government and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, who, as they said, fulfilled their promises and enabled the Institute to have a chance to survive.

Pavićević said that from now on the six-month deadline for the adoption of the rescue plan for the Institute is running.

He thanked minority shareholder Žarko Rakčević for his efforts in the common goal of saving the Institute.

"We hope for a high-quality study that will include medicine, tourism, education, and all of that must be the foundation on which the new Institute will grow," Pavićević said.

Health Minister Vojislav Šimun said that this is only the first step in the Institute's recovery and that the next steps will include the help of international experts.

"The Institute has no alternative and has multiple significance. We know that the Institute's users are also our children, our citizens. I am sure that we will have a quality solution, the Government stands behind the Institute", added Šimun.

The Minister of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property, Janko Odović, said that the Government has shown that it is responsible, that it fulfills its promises and that it has shown in difficult conditions that it will not let the Institute go.

"We showed that when we have mutual trust, we also have the foundation for a successful story, after the previous long period of mistrust and unfulfilled promises," said Odović.

The director of the Institute, Zoran Kovačevič, pointed out that the sword that had been hanging over the Institute for months was finally removed, especially thanks to the Government and the Prime Minister, who, as he said, made great efforts to find legal help.

He said that they owe special thanks to the workers, creditors and suppliers who, as he stated, are asking for additional patience in the next six months, when the restructuring plan is expected.

"The plan should define the next three years, hopefully not small institutions because we all believe that the Institute can and must be a respectable health and tourism institution", Kovačević added.

Union President Marija Obradović expects that the restructuring plan will bring about the final recovery of the Institute, and that foreign patients will also return to it.

"Since yesterday, breathing is easier at the Institute. The reason - after years of promises, this Government and Prime Minister Spajić fulfilled their promises, and we are grateful for that. Special thanks also go to all the employees who, on the brink of existence, remained to work professionally Obradovic said.

Minority shareholder Žarko Rakčević believes that the Institute has been given a new chance and will take advantage of it.

"Montenegro needs and must bring the institute to four stars, to expand the market", believes Rakčević.

On Thursday, the government and the minority shareholder, the Villa Oliva company, each paid five million euros in order to unblock the Institute's account, and the workers were paid two salaries each.
