The second phase of the reconstruction of the Cetinje-Njeguši regional road, Bajička Street, has been completely completed, the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs announced.
The Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Filip Radulović, said that the work on one of the main roads, 1,6 kilometers long, was successfully completed.
He added that by connecting with other roads, the construction of which is in progress, the Capital will be well networked.
"With the reconstruction of this interchange, smooth and safe traffic is enabled on the Cetinje-Njeguši-Kotor regional road, which is very busy during the summer tourist season due to the tourist importance of this part of Montenegro," said Radulović.
According to him, with the reconstruction of this part of the road, as well as the near completion of the construction of the Cetinje-Čevo and Čekanje-Čevo roads, the Capital of Cetinje will get a modern network of regional and main roads.
The mayor of Cetinje, Nikola Đurašković, said that despite numerous challenges, the works were brought to an end.
He thanked the citizens for their patience and announced that the modernization of the city's infrastructure will continue in the coming period.
"The capital city of Cetinje, in cooperation with the Traffic Administration, completed the complete infrastructure, public lighting, fecal and atmospheric sewage, water supply and installed a new electrical and energy cable in certain sections. We are also working on the arrangement of sidewalks and green areas along the road." stated Đurašković.
The Director of the Traffic Administration, Radomir Vuksanović, said that the reconstruction was done in accordance with professional standards.
"The contracted value of the works is 1,84 million euros with value added tax (VAT). Part of the Boulevard of Montenegrin Heroes and the street towards Bajice were reconstructed, as well as part of the regional road Cetinje - Njeguša - Kotor, with a length of 1,6 kilometers", specified Vuksanović.
The edging of the roadway, as he explained, was realized with curbs with sidewalks in the width of the expropriation, and ramps for wheelchairs were provided at pedestrian crossings.
The road is equipped with appropriate horizontal and vertical signaling and equipment, and for storm water drainage, a storm sewer collector was installed on the entire road section.
