Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević, on the occasion of the European Commission's decision to award a grant of 100 million euros to finance the second section of the Bar-Boljara highway, said that she was pleased with the strong and clear support of the European Union for Montenegro as a leading candidate for accession.
"The grant in the amount of 100 million euros, intended for financing the second section of the Bar-Boljara highway, is the first of two tranches of support that Montenegro receives from the IPA funds. Along with the Growth Plan, through which almost 400 million euros have been allocated for Montenegro, we get a strong financial injection and an achievement for balanced economic development and better investment potential," she wrote on Iks.
The European Commission, as part of the Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans, adopted a decision to finance a grant of 100 million euros to support the construction of the section of the Bar-Boljara highway, between Mateševo and Andrijevica.
The contribution of 100 million from IPA III funds, as announced, represents the first tranche of EU support, which will be supplemented with up to 100 million euros in the second tranche of EU funds.
