The Swiss company 8B Capital, which leased the production facilities of EPCG Željezara Nikšić for 50 years, presented today the references of partner companies that will be engaged in the joint start-up of production in that Nikšić company.
The representative of the Swiss company, Igor Šamis, announced that the available equipment in the Ironworks enables the production of more than 300 tons of steel.
"What is important is to use the production capacity of the Steel Plant in accordance with market requirements," said Šamis.
He said that it is necessary to produce about 100 thousand tons of raw steel in order to produce about five thousand different alloy steel profiles in Kovačnica, and that the difference of up to 300 thousand tons should be used for the production of high-quality concrete iron.

Šamis believes that hot-rolled strips should also be produced in Kovačnica, as well as another range of products that the market is looking for.
"It is one of the possible directions for the development of the Ironworks," Šamis said.
He added that there is hard and tiring work ahead, but that he sees Željezara as a large company that will enter many markets, and that the goal is to recover the metallurgical sector in Montenegro with joint efforts.
"This is a really important period for me, which brings with it a great responsibility," Šamis said.
The President of the EPCG Board of Directors, Milutin Đukanović, announced that Elektroprivreda will continue to be constructive, as well as having the support of the Assembly and the Government.
"We expect that Nikšić, which was recognized as a city where special types of steel were produced, will continue with this activity. We expect you to bring us new technologies, a new way of thinking and doing business," said Đukanović.
He stated that the entire process will be under public scrutiny, because Željezara is one of the most important companies in Montenegro.

"We will have to take care of the environment, not to endanger the rights of workers, as well as to respect their acquired rights. We also expect the workers to give the maximum of their knowledge", said Đukanović.
He announced the signing of several annexes to the contract related to the inventory of assets, the agreement on the application of rights, as well as the act on the price of electricity and the contract on business and technical cooperation between EPCG-Željezara Nikšić and the company 8B Capital.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the German Kohler, the Swiss company Hausler, and the Chinese company Geily Machinery and Dayi Heary Forging Techonology.Co, which inherit a long tradition in the field of design, production, installation and procurement of equipment for the production of forged carbon, alloy and tool steel.
It was announced from EPCG that the union and workers of the Željezara prevented representatives of the company 8B Capital and its partner companies from visiting the plants and facilities of the factory after the meeting in EPCG.
