The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Montenegro for Regional Development and Infrastructure, Milun Zogović, met today with the delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which consisted of the director of the office (EBRD) for Montenegro Remon Zakarija and the chief banker Radoslav Ralević.
"The interlocutors emphasized the importance of continuing fruitful cooperation, the result of which is the implementation of the most significant infrastructure projects in Montenegro, with special reference to the second section of the Bar-Boljari highway from Mateševo to Andrijevica. Both parties agreed that special attention must be paid to the implementation of infrastructure projects the environment and the protection of the community's interests. The government, EBRD and Monteput are collaborating on a detailed assessment of the impact on the environment and society with the aim of minimizing the effects of highway construction on local communities for those who live in the northern region," the Government announced.
They want, as they point out, to convince the people of the village through which the highway passes that all measures are being taken to preserve their quality of life and protect the environment.
"The meeting also discussed the implementation of existing joint projects and the preparation of new ones, such as the reconstruction of the Golubovci - Bar railway line and the improvement of the Montenegrin airport. Joint projects that will enable connection and regional integration through the expansion of cross-border transport links will significantly increase the competitiveness of the Montenegrin economy." , it is written in the announcement.
Vukićević: EBRD support for strategic infrastructure projects
The Minister of Transport, Maja Vukićević, organized a working meeting with the Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Remon Zakaria.
"Open cooperation, in which the EBRD is a partner, on key strategic infrastructure projects, in the first place: the Bar-Boljare highway project, the Golubovci-Bar railway reconstruction project, the Tivat-Jaz boulevard, are part of the open projects for a credible partner such as is the EBRD," Vukićević announced.
Continuation of started projects, focus on the identified issue of improving corporate governance, support in the form of technical expertise and strengthening of personnel capacities, as announced by the Ministry of Transport, are recognized as priorities at the level of joint cooperation with the EBRD.
Vukićević expressed her satisfaction that a financial institution like the EBRD continuously invests efforts and recognizes the capacities of a strategic partner, and in the coming period, they will work together to create a favorable environment in order to affirm the realization of key projects.
