In the last two months, the Directorate for Inspection Affairs achieved the best results since its existence, 70 inspectors in six coastal municipalities carried out over eight thousand inspections, and nearly seven thousand misdemeanor orders were issued in the amount of almost 3,2 million euros.
This is the assessment from the press conference, which was organized by the Directorate for Inspection Affairs (UIP) on the occasion of presenting the results of the intensified supervision of the UIP in the summer tourist season of 2024, as well as a review of the work results for the first eight months of this year, the PR center announced .
The director of the Directorate for Inspection Affairs, Ana Vujošević, reminded that the increased supervision was carried out in six coastal municipalities during July and August, it was carried out by the Tourism, Market, Labor Inspection, Health and Sanitary Inspection, and the results are continuously increasing.
"We can boast that the two places behind us gave the best results since the Directorate for Inspection Affairs existed. In the tourist season, 70 inspectors participated and they all tried to answer all the tasks in the best way. This also included monitoring at extremely high temperatures , as well as inspections in the late evening and early morning hours," said Vujošević.
She added that along with the implementation of increased surveillance on the coast, neither the central nor the northern part of the country was neglected, nor were the tourist centers in Žabljak and Kolašin, the rafting centers in Žabljak and Plužine, and Lake Skadar.
"In addition to inspection supervision in coastal municipalities, we dealt with the protection of the environment, ecology, public health, cultural heritage and cultural assets, protection of state resources, forests, water and proactively acted on any report of irregularities in the riverbeds every day," said Vujošević. . She pointed out that the Directorate for Inspection Affairs acts indiscriminately, regardless of the category of company, municipality or any other attribute of a particular subject of supervision.
"In the first eight months of this year, 36.016 inspections were carried out. There were 15.447 established irregularities, we pointed out in 4.184 cases, which means that we respected the principle of prevention, and the amount of fines imposed by misdemeanor orders is almost six million, so our presence was very visible ", said Vujošević.
Assistant director Darko Rašović said that they were particularly dedicated to the environment sector, the safety of people's health and state resources.
"There are nine inspections in that sector, the parameters have been increased compared to previous years. We had 9.481 inspections, 3.521 irregularities were found, and 1.501 decisions were issued for those irregularities. 912.220 euros in fines were imposed on misdemeanor orders. What is worrying is a large number of criminal reports. There were 45 of them, which is 25 percent more than last year," Rašović announced.
The largest number of criminal reports was recorded in forestry, hunting and plant protection - 27, and 17 criminal reports at the Water Inspectorate, added Rašović and said that this shows that the situation in these areas is far from satisfactory.
The chief labor inspector and market inspection coordinator, Srđan Simović, said that most of the activities of the Labor Inspectorate are related to the suppression of illegal work, and the working hours are also controlled, as well as the legality of the employment of minors. "Irregularities were found in 80 percent of the inspections, which is a fact that speaks volumes about how well the inspectors approached their work and how well they worked... The situation is getting better from year to year, but it is not yet at a satisfactory level and that is why is such a high amount of fines," said Simović.
He pointed out that the Labor Inspection has very good results when it comes to suppressing illegally introduced overtime work.
"We are aware that the largest retail chains have shortened working hours precisely under the pressure of the inspection and frequent inspection controls. A large number of fines have been issued for working without a concluded employment contract and registration for mandatory social insurance, and the Labor Inspectorate has zero tolerance for this violation." concluded Simović.
